- To be aware of the legal and regulatory issues affecting our industry and to actively support progressive legislation that clarifies these issues without restricting its growth or creativity.
- To collect and disseminate information regarding our industry.
- To fully support legislative, regulatory, and judicial efforts which protect the freedom of choice of firms to provide services to their clients using independent contractors or employees, or a combination thereof.
- To provide cost-effective services to the membership where possible by sharing in the cost of such services or negotiating price reductions.

- Abide by all applicable international, Federal, state, and local laws with regard to the operation of their businesses.
- Promote free and fair competition among members, clients, consultants, or competitors.
- Preserve all proprietary information relating to the business of their clients.
- Actively avoid misrepresenting a consultant's skills or experience.
- Refrain from soliciting employees of their own active clients.
- Have a clear policy for payment of consulting, marketing and recruiting personnel.
- Comply with clients' established business practices including those policies relating to gifts and gratuities to client employees.
TechServe Alliance members DO NOT: - Engage in illegal restraint of trade, unfair competition, or violation of anti-trust laws.
- Misrepresent a consultant's pay rate, contract terms, assignment duration, or other subjects pertinent to the business relationship.
- Have unreasonable non-competition clauses or unfairly prevent a consultant from pursuing other opportunities.
- Induce consultants to breach or improperly interfere with a contractual relationship.
